Food Scrap Drop-Off Service


With a Drop-Off Service subscription, you will be provided with a 5 gallon bucket to drop off your food scraps whenever you pass our facility which is located at 4343 Route 30 in Dorset. It is easy to find. It is one mile north of the town green at the big white barn across from Paul’s Way.

Step-by-step guide


1. Fill your 5 gallon bucket with your food scraps.


2. Visit our food scrap drop-off station at our facility.


3. Dump your bucket into the larger bin and record your volume on the clipboard.


4. Swap out your dirty bucket with a clean one.


What is compostable?

Food scraps of any kind are compostable. It is very important to separate any plastics or other items that our not compostable. Stickers on fruits and vegetables are particularly difficult to screen out of a finished compost product. Note: "compostable products" such as bags, cups, and take-out containers are not accepted. Our compost end product is used to grow food for humans so we don't take any chances.

Paper Products:
Napkins, Paper Towels, Coffee Filters, Tea Bags (No Staples)

Plastic, “Compostable Plastics” (Bags, Utensils, Coffee Pods, Cups, etc.), Metal, Glass, Chemicals, Styrofoam, Liquids, Grease, Stickers, Diapers, Tissues, Pet Waste, Pizza Boxes

Non-Customers $5/drop-off: (paid via cash in the cash box)

- Please record quantity in gallons (we need this for state reporting purposes)
