Dorset Compost collects your food scraps and produces compost at our Vermont State licensed compost facility located at our active farm. Our goal is to help eliminate landfill methane from food scraps in Southern Vermont.
Our team delivers a 5 gallon bucket with a secure lid to your home.
Deposit your food scraps in the bucket and leave it out on collection day. Depending upon your plan we pick up weekly or bi-weekly. We leave you with a clean bucket each pick-up.
Food scraps of any kind are compostable. It is very important to separate any plastics or other items that our not compostable. Stickers on fruits and vegetables are particularly difficult to screen out of a finished compost product. Note: "compostable products" such as bags, cups, and take-out containers are not accepted. Our compost end product is used to grow food for humans so we don't take any chances.
